The logic is simple..there is a difference between digit and number
if i asked number 8 ( the one between 7 and 9) ... obvious answer would hav worked..i thought a lot and referred before making that one

yes, I suspected the obvious answer did not work because of the difference between number and digit, but could not explain it to myself.
