We have now about 4 cm snow (1.5748 inches), which is peanuts in comparison to other parts in our country where they have 50 cm (19.685 inches).

So far we have 20 inches of snow here and we are expected to get at least 10 more before this storm is over. It will officially be a blizzard if the wind picks up like they are saying it will. I'll be stuck in my house for a while.

in the last ten minutes we have had every type of precipitation excluding hail. snow is falling down in clumps covered my porch in 3 minutes yes i timed it were supposed to get 5 inches in the valleys and im on hte plateau just north and a bit east there getting 8 inches in dc their getting 15 and it just gets worse the farther you go north in this storm system. to put a kicker on it no salt on roads they put it there yesterday and guess what it rained all day just like the forecast said it would wow. now its freezing the 1-2 inches of rain we got today is freezing......and the snow is laying easier on top of that. Heres what the local weather said Several counties are being encouraged to avoid travel altogether, if at all possible, due to snow and ice on the roadways including mine of course. tons of roads closed alot of stores already posted they are not opened tomorrow or opeing late. We are under a winter storm warning for the rest of the weekend. this is going ot be a fun weekend well i wished for snow and i got it well think of it this way (ITS NOT EVEN WINTER YET ITS STILL FALL FOR FIVE MORE DAYS)

The very first snow is falling right now. Well, just a little bit. Not even enough to make everything white, but better than nothing.

for us this is normal ,and when its getting too cold

OMG freddy, we never had that much snow here in antwerp (that i can remember)

driving in snow is never a problem ,its when you have to use the breaks...
We're at 6800 feet (2072 meters) & almost 1000 miles (1600 km) inland so we don't have any moderating effect from the ocean.

I've kinda had to relearn how to use the brakes in ice/snow with anti-lock braking,I don't have to gently pump them, just hold the pedal down & steer gently.
Of course if it gets really nasty I'll put chains on,I've got it down to a few minutes now,tho I still get wet & cold

    Highs are averaging: 40 F (4 C)

So that's pretty dang cold for where I am. And there's no rain or snow. Just ice and cold. We're supposed to get some rain starting tomorrow night.

@ Freddie....Yeah, I am so scared of driving in the snow I drive VERY slow. Snail slow. Literally!! I have also gotten a sunburn on a sunny day when I was snowboarding once. It's the reflection off the white snow or something.... (Love the pics!)
Your temps are about like ours (typical for us),our snow's been meltin' so now we have mud everywhere (dirt roads). Our driveway comes to our back door,so the utility room floor is covered in it.It dries rock hard too.
One thing about livin' out here is everyone is used to takin' their boots off when we visit each other,I have a little shelf I put up to hold more boots.

I'm a Realtor, one of the things I tell people if they want to move out here is "If you're a clean freak then you won't like this"
How the h*** did that mud get up there???
