Tonight's full moon will be the biggest and brightest full moon of the year. It offers anyone with clear skies an opportunity to identify easy-to-see features on the moon.

This being the first full moon of 2010, it is also known as the wolf moon, a moniker dating back to Native American culture and the notion that hungry wolves howled at the full moon on cold winter nights. Each month brings another full moon name.

Lovely pictures! Just my type of landscape!
Over here the snow melted and we got rain which was not a good thing at all. The ground still being bitter cold the rain turned into ice as soon as it came down on it. Looked great though, everything covered in a layer of ice. Kids had a day off school and recovery vehicle drivers had a busy day towing cars out of ditches. Hope this is over soon.

@Funja....Light the fire, make hot chocolate, get your camera, and read a good book or come online.

@Freddie....YAY! Love the snow. But I can imagine driving in that mud afterward is pretty crazy. Get out your four-wheel drive.

RC - we sent some more storms your way! Muahaha!

We've got high fog right now and are due for some rain showers (nothing much) tomorrow and the next day. Wish it were another good storm. We just had a week of storms and got 6.54 inches of rain in my area in a week! (That's a lot for our drought-stricken area.)
I'll get some pics when the sun comes out, maybe tomorrow.

It's gonna warm up,melting all our snow, which is good for the watershed, but our roads are already mudbogs, this'll make them even more fun

sunshine? I've heard this word before...doesn't that come from this beautiful golden disc that used to be up there in the sky??
Well as you can guess no sunshine here but a dark and grey sky and a freezing cold wind from the east. Minus 9 ° C but the wind makes it feel much much colder. It brings tears to your eyes and icicles to a runny nose. And the forecast is not taking about a change. bbbrrrrhh...

Get out your super warm ninja clothes for next week.

We're scheduled to have rain tomorrow. Looking forward to it. We're still below average rainfall.

Choc....Aww...I hope that your power outage didn't last TOO long.

Drive safely Freddie!!!! I'm not a snow driver...I think I'd be an idiot driving 2 MPH and scared outta my mind. LOL

We've had rain all week long. Been loving it. Unfortunately, we have to see the sun tomorrow, but then hopefully some more rain coming Sunday evening. *crosses paws* We've been suffering a drought for 10 years at least (if I remember correctly) so all this rain is MUCH needed.
