You need them after you got acces the the PDA.

File 1 says that something is hidden on the floor

Be sure you have water in your glass and to choose it in your inventory. Face the door and click the carpet. It should zoom. When you click it again a small box will ask you if you want to examine it further (a box like for the bed). You click the upper word, click on the glass of water and make the carpet wet. A 2nd safe opens where you need the number of things.

After you entered the right code and got the key, only click once with the key on the keyhole and then to the right of the trap door (you will flee through a tunnel).
Do not leave through the door and do not leave when it is day (it must be night). The lady was kind of a monster...

Bad Ends:

Bad End 1:
If you run out of energy (yellow bar), you'll die from fatigue (warning in the tutorial).
Bad End 2:
Try to open the door too many times will summons the green monster and you die (warning in the diary).
Bad End 3:
Escaping during the morning (arning in the diary). The green monster's eye sight is weak in the dark. But during the day, he can see you well.
Bad End 4:
Using the Heart Key on the wrong door will send you to heaven.
Good End:
When you successfully escape from the room, you find yourself weak and fall to the ground. A shadow comes from behind and tells you that now is the time to use the Heart Key. When two doors appear, you need to choose the right door. The left door is called the Heaven Door, and the other the Earth door. By opening the Earth door, you find yourself in the hill near your home, feeling quite well.

When you come through the door, the key shatters to pieces. Then the monologue says that the Heart Key was the heaven's key, not the key to the heaven (because you got to live, I guess). O-well.

The Story:
It happened when winter was ending and signs of spring was showing up. He caught a cold but didn't think it was a big deal. So he just took some cold medicine to address it. But he never got well even after a month and half. So, finally, he decided to head to a hospital. He was diagnosed with just a common cold but the symptoms didn't look like just a cold. On the way home he looks up the sky and thinks, "Maybe the messenger from heaven is calling me."

The scene cuts to him home. His wife (I think) is telling him to rest well while she goes for shopping. After she leaves, he lamments that he couldn't tell her maybe he's dying.

After a while he sleeps and wakes up wondering how long he'd slept. It's awfully quiet. When he opens his wyes, he can't move. The green monster shows up and takes him to the room.

The escape starts...

A colleague at work gave me a brain twister. What number goes into ? - 4,4,4,4,?,2,3,4
After thinking about it for a while. I figured it out. The answer is 8.
This is a hint for the kanji on the wall. The sequence of numbers are the strokes for the days of a week in kanji - 月火水木金土日(Monday to Sunday).
2/19-21/2004:
Another guy is brought to the room. Two of them tries to escape unsuccessfully. The guy goes wild and hit the door repeatedly and stuff. The green monster appears and takes him away.
2/22/2004:
It looks that the green monster can't see at night because......blood.
