So the ciphertext must always be even, as it seems.
It's good news, because a bifid-cipher online decoder is available at: http://www.apprendre-en-ligne.net/cr...elastelle.html
but we still need the keyword

The applet on that french page seems to be coming out with nonsense - examine the grille and the results for yourself and see what I mean. It may just be that I can't read french and so don't understand the nature of the applet fully, but it looks conclusively screwed from hereThe second link isn't for a bifid cipher as far as I can tell.

Try the example given in the page: EETDY TYDBQ RUDEB SRRGE ESMDL PJNPL AEAAR EIEYG APCUB MMTXJ TLZQX LVIOY LITER IJECO IZZFF, with the keyword "recueillement", and see that it works, even if the plaintext will be in french.
The grille changes with every keyword, of course.
And yes, I agree, the second link from ender does not seem to be about a bifid cipher

Having said that I've found another applet that gives completely different results for the same settings, sooo....
