Well, I seem to find nothing, what's that mansion???
I got there too... though my translation of the cipher was a bit off... "pahnsing" instead of "painting"...

I think you just type in the address
I reject your reality and substitute my own!

So glad you are back Kuang. It is not fair the level was solved without you being here. What do you think about the next one. I've tried ROT from rot1 to rot25 but useless. Now will try other substitution systems. Any ideas? It seems it can't be very difficult.

Tried CaesarCipher with all key-letters, the whole alphabet. No use.

Have you noticed "gatosdesilva" means "junglecats"? Neither junglecats nor stacelgnuj have worked, though

            • I thought 'selva' was jungle and 'silva' was hiss?

Yeap, you're right on selva. Pretty close anyway, isn't it?

                Any clue so far?

                • Try doing exactly what the detective did as he tried to solve the password.

                  • Hi all, thanks for all the help! I too was stuck with an ending to the text that did not make sense, I have only just come back to the forum and you have all left for the next level, see you all there!!

And well done everyone for very hard work and brain power!

                    • I'm thinking that mirror doesn't necessarily mean reverse, but can just mean 'the same as', pointing to a translation. If he was counting on his fingers it could mean he was working out the numeric equivalent of each letter, or counting the total number of letters. 'Mental substitution' suggests that the username processed with the result of this counting gives the password.

                      Still thinking about it

                      • Good thinking, but what else did he do (this is rather sneaky)?

                        • Well, I tried "mirrorring" the letters in a A=Z basis, you know, each letter in the alphabet is ciphered with its opposite, but didn't worked. I tried that with gatosdesilva and junglecats, even with avlisedsotag and stacelgnuj.

                          • He didn't get it right first time, but took a number of tries. Hm.

Doesn't sound good for a calculation - seems a bit like guesswork...

                            *thinks*

                            • I have done the same, I have also tried 'gatos da selva' (jungle cats in portuguese) 'cats of hiss' (gatosdesilva in english) both forwards and backwards, I have also tried anagrams of gatosdesilva just as an off chance cryptos was trying to be sneaky!!

Because of the need to try multiple choices, I tried to use ROT 13, from rot1 to rot25, and it didn't work, as I said before. Neither did Caesar Cipher, using all alphabet choices from b to z.

Maybe it is about mirrorring gatosdesilva to avlisedsotag first, and then applying rot or caesar
